Marks Average formula
Average marks = Σmarks ÷ count; pooled percentage = Σmarks ÷ Σmaximum marks × 100
An average of 37.5 marks needs a scale to be interpreted. Here, both assessments have the same percentage even though their raw marks differ. Keep the raw-mark average and normalized percentage distinct when writing a report.
