Average and Range formula
Range = maximum − minimum; average = sum ÷ count
A dataset’s range uses only its extremes. Two datasets can share the same range and have very different distributions in between. Use the mean to describe their average level, and treat the range as a simple description of spread.

The calculation uses standard floating-point numbers and compensated addition. Results are rounded only for display. Very small values use scientific notation so they do not silently appear as zero. Select the display precision you need, while respecting the accuracy of your original data.
